Richard Rides for Rehab

Congratulations to Richard Care who has completed a 50-mile stretch of the South Downs Way on his bike, in aid of Cardiac Rehab, last weekend.

Richard decided to fundraise for Rehab because “Heart problems killed my mother and her two siblings; it’s also affected my sister’s health. As a regular cyclist I hope to reduce my risk, but Cardiac Rehab do a wonderful job promoting exercise to restore your heart to health.” We are incredibly grateful for his support.

The weather on the 3 July was damp: it began to rain as he started the ride and continued for the next couple of hours.  It then brightened up just in time for the ascent of the aptly named Hill Lane between East Harting and the main road over the downs (if you’ve ridden up it you will remember it).  In total he completed 53½ miles in just under 4 hours climbing 3,750 feet (86km and 1140m in new money) – a fantastic achievement!!

If you would like to show you support you can sponsor Richard (pictured in the red jersey with his cycling companions) by clicking on the link: https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/RichardCare/1.  Or get in touch to set up your own sponsorship challenge!
