A helping hand for Cardiac Rehab

Charity Cardiac Rehab has welcomed a helping hand from a UK company based in Alton.

EPS Water Ltd, which is located at Delta Park, Wilsom Road, has given £500 to help Cardiac Rehab continue to deliver its vital services.

Shaun Stevens, who is UK General Manager at EPS Water Ltd, says: “As a business we are committed to supporting worthy causes and community groups in the Alton area, and we’re delighted to be continuing our association with Cardiac Rehab.

“We have seen the vital support it provides for the people of East Hampshire and beyond in recovering from cardiac episodes, staying heart-healthy and promoting awareness. We know that our donation will be put to good use, helping Cardiac Rehab to keep delivering specialist services long into the future.”

Cardiac Rehab’s CEO Sarah Quarterman comments: “We are delighted that EPS Water Ltd has chosen to support Cardiac Rehab for a second time.

“Here at Cardiac Rehab we work with individuals to improve their heart health, fitness and life expectancy.  We are not part of the NHS and we must fundraise to cover some two thirds of our costs, in order to keep our specialist exercise centre in Chawton Park Road running smoothly.”

The charity runs a Staywell programme, besides helping those who have suffered from, or are at risk of, heart disease. For the over 65s, there are Steady and Strong classes, helping individuals to avoid frailty. The charity also supports people recovering from cancer, Covid and even those preparing for joint surgery.
